Meanwhile, both the jalapeno cream cheese and pepper jack cheese act as a glue to seal the wrap while simultaneously pitching into the slightly sweet zest. Leave it to a restaurant named after a genius to concoct a successful combination as unique as this.

Vegetable Dutch from Pancake Cafe - $9.95

The Vegetable Dutch is a collection of vegetables baked into a Dutch baby and then topped with havarti cheese. If you're like me and don't know what a Dutch baby is, it's a miniature German pancake. Anyway, I'm very proud to make a find as tasty as this one, particularly because breakfast items are usually the same ol' same ol' sausage, eggs, etc. This on the other hand, was like a pancake-pizza hybrid with vegetables for toppings. It's dense like a pancake with a hint of cinnamon and vanilla, so reminded me a little of pumpkin bread. Another note: since the German pancake is larger, it looks more like a bread bowl than a flat pizza.

Apple Crêpe from Bob Evan's - $4.99

I made a post on their strawberry & banana crêpe earlier but when I went this time, they didn't have them. Their fruit crêpes are dependent on what fruit is in season, and then they have the constant offering of blueberry. Lucky for me, it's apples season.

The apple crêpe tasted better than its straw-bana counterpart, but was less filling, so it evens out. Either way, this variation has convinced me to make the crêpe a standard add-on to my entrée.

Border Scramble Burrito from Bob Evan's - $6.49

The Border Scramble burrito is essentially the same as the Border Scramble omelette except instead of being wrapped in eggs, this is wrapped in a flour tortilla and topped with sausage chili, scallions, and sour cream. I'm looking at the description online and apparently it was also supposed to have cheddar cheese on top as well. Oh well...

Anyway, this is, in my opinion, a tastier alternative to the omelette version. My friend tried both as well and he agrees. Factor in the cheaper price and you're in for a win-win meal.

Border Scramble Omelette from Bob Evan's - $7.99

The border scramble omelette is a three egg omelette stuffed with pepper-jack cheese, Bob Evans sausage, home fries, diced tomatoes and onions in a Ranchero sauce. Then it's topped with sour cream, scallions and more pepper-jack cheese.

Don't know what to say about this one except that I enjoyed it thoroughly. And if you like this one then check the next post...

Soufflé from Panera - $3.35

I've never actually had a soufflé before, so I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it combines two of my favorite foods - eggs and croissants. Well, that's not completely accurate, because I don't believe the breaded part is technically a croissant, but it has the same flakiness to it. The best comparison to a soufflé I can come up with off the top of my head is that it's like eating a fluffy omlette set atop croissant bed. MmMmmmM...

The middle picture is of the turkey, sausage and potato soufflé and the bottom picture is for the spinach and artichoke soufflé. Each is about the size of a CD.

Strawberry Banana Crêpe from Bob Evan's - $4.99

I hear crêpes themselves are virutally tasteless, and that the flavor comes from everything else mixed with it. Sounds believable considering that crêpes are basically just thin, wheat pancakes.

Anyway, these crêpes are filled with vanilla cream cheese and topped with strawberries, bananas, whipped cream, and powdered sugar. Mmm Mmm good!

Steak McSkillet Burrito from McDonald's - $2.95

Here is another bit of proof that McDonald's breakfast is top tier. You've got your steak, scrambled eggs, potato vegetable blend, American cheese, shredded cheddar & Jack cheese, onions and salsa all wrapped inside a flour tortilla.

The picture may look messy, but it's neatly wrapped when you receive it so it's nothing to worry about. What you MAY have to worry about are digestion woes. I think the salsa gave me some minor stomach pains later that day, but I have sensitive stomach, so it could just be me.

Sausage, Egg, & Cheese McGriddle from McDonald's - $2.30

It seems all breakfast sandwiches are a combination of sausage/bacon/ham, egg, and cheese. This one's no different, but at least they tried to do something creative with the bread - the bun has been injected with syrup to give the sandwich a much sweeter taste.

I've heard people say they love it or hate it, so at the very least, it deserves a shot.

Breakfast Burrito from McDonald's - $1.50

Figure I might as well keep the breakfast theme going. This time, we have a breakfast burrito from McDonald's which consists of sausage, scrambled eggs, green and red bell peppers, and American cheese, wrapped inside a soft tortillo shell.

I order these on occasion to break away from the from the typical toast/biscuit/bagel/English muffin choices usually offered for breakfast sandwiches. Also, these are fairly small so it takes about two of them to completely replace one of the other breakfast sandwiches.

French Toast Sticks from Burger King - $1.00

This will probably be the last Burger King post I make because there's nothing else there I really eat besides the breakfast.

Anyway, these French toast sticks are a nice alternative to the standard hashbrowns. They taste like lightly friend strips of French toast and they come with a side of syrup for dipping.

Whenever I order them, the cashier always asks me if I want to upgrade it to the five piece, instead of just three. But if you think about it, this is a pretty stupid question - the five piece costs $2.05 while the three piece costs $1 which means I can get six pieces for cheaper than I can get five? I wonder how many idiots fall for that one.

Sausage, Egg, & Cheese Croissan'wich from Burger King - $4.58

The item is just as its name states - a croissant with sausage, egg, and American cheese in the middle. For some reason, they list the price of $4.58 for two sandwiches instead of listing $2.29 for one sandwich. It must be their marketing ploy to get fatties such as myself to order two instead of just one... and apparently it works because I end up ordering two whenever I go.

Anyway, I'm a huge sucker for croissants so this is probably my favorite item off their menu. I think you can substitute the sausage for either bacon or ham, but I always go for the sausage. (Insert gay joke here).

Enormous Omelette Sandwich from Burger King - $3.19

This sandwich is 730 calories of heart attack goodness. The layers go: bun, egg, sausage patty, two strips of bacon, egg, cheese, and then bun. It's a good sandwich, but there's one other item I prefer to get over this one (to be posted tomorrow).

McDonald's Breakfast from America

Why am I posting pictures of a meal from McDonald's? Well, I have foreign friends who say McDonald's breakfast is shitty and I beg to differ, so we're doing a comparison with pictures. On the top is the Deluxe Breakfast and below that is the Steak, Egg, and Cheese Bagel. Unfortunately, I suck at photography so the bagel picture is a bit blurry. Maybe I'll try for a clearer picture next time.
