Frito Mixto Andaluz from Ole Tapas Lounge - $7.00

1126 Capital Trail, Newark, DE - (302)224-9378

Thankfully, this should be my last post on this crappy, overpriced restaurant. I never plan to go here again and I'm telling everyone how terrible the food is for the price you pay.

The menu says this is a "sampler of various fried seafood," but there's hardly any seafood! This dish was TERRIBLE! If you look at the picture, the Jenga stack on the left are fried carrots and zucchini. Those five or six tiny crumbs on the right make up the "sampler" of seafood. So basically, they charged me $7 for part of a carrot and zucchini, and three small shrimps. I mean, seriously. They might as well have just asked me to pay them $7 to have them tell me to go eff off.

Chipirones a la Plancha from Ole Tapas Lounge - $5.00

1126 Capital Trail, Newark, DE - (302)224-9378

This is baby calamari griddled with garlic. Thankfully, this place didn't screw up the calamari. It tasted alright, but there was nothing outstanding about the dish. They did, however, once again charge too much for mediocre food, so I would never order it again.

Croquetas de Pollo from Ole Tapas Lounge - $5.00

1126 Capital Trail, Newark, DE - (302)224-9378

I'm not done bashing this tapas place just yet. These croquettes taste like little fried nuggets of chicken pot pie. That in itself isn't such a bad idea, but slap on a $5.00 price tag for just four ice cube-sized pieces and now we're butting heads.

I don't see these on the online menu anymore so perhaps the restaurant also realized what a failure the dish is. If they had these priced at 25 cents apiece, then I'd order them again.

Patatas Bravas from Ole Tapas Lounge - $4.00

1126 Capital Trail, Newark, DE - (302)224-9378

These things sucked. They had no taste whatsoever. Instead of getting this, I recommend you get french fries or cheesy fiesta potatoes for a fraction of the cost and at least then your food will have some flavor instead of just looking nice.

Tomate con Cangrejo from Ole Tapas Lounge - $7.00

1126 Capital Trail, Newark, DE - (302)224-9378

This was a tomato stuffed with crab and cheese, among other things. It was good, but only because I like crab. Would I ever pay $7 again for it? No way.

If I ever want something like this again, I'll just buy some lump crab, a tomato, and some mozzarella cheese. I would even skip the stuffing of the tomato because it didn't add anything to the dish except for its appearance.
